HOW TO GET TO KYTHIRA
Via Car, Bus or Ferry Boat:
To reach Kythira by car you must first drive to the port of Neapoli or Gythio located on the mainland of Greece. From these ports there are regular daily ferries to the Kythira which takes approx. one hour. There is also a bus service on a Sunday to these ports from Athens. The main port of Piraeus, Athens offers a fast service hydrofoil to Kythira everyday.
Aeroplane:
To reach the island by air there are daily flights from the Athens airport to Kythira. The flight takes about 50 minutes.
There are also charter flights from many European airports directly to Kefalonia operating in the summer months between May and October.
